Be strategic with your money, come up with a plan and execute! I tell you this story in the Part 2 video in hopes that you would make a better decision than I did and pay for your car in cash. Whatever you do, have a strategy and assess risk. When you are developing a strategy here are three points to ponder:
1) Start With the End in Mind
The book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey is where I first discovered the phrase of "Start With the End in Mind". In short, this means to envision where you want to be before you start moving. Before you create the strategy know what you want the end to look like, so your strategy has purpose. With purpose, passion, and prayer your strategy will be more effective.
2) Write the Strategy Down
Write down your strategy even if it's rough and doesn't make sense. It doesn't have to be in any perfect format at first, just write it down! Even in the Word of God, Habakkuk 2:2, it speaks about writing the vision down. This gives you a chance to read over your strategy, pray over it, make changes to it, and determine quickly if your strategy is moving in the right direction. After multiple iterations your strategy should be ready for implementation.
3) Ask Someone Who is Where You Want to Be to Review Your Strategy
This is a self explanatory step but very important. As you could see in my story I had a friend who only paid cash for his cars and was where I wanted to be (no car payment). I know it's easy to believe that you can do it all on your own, but that's a false idea. Find the correct person or people to help you with your strategy by being wise to select at least one of them who are were you want to be.
